Melissa, Tawni (myspace link) & Karen (myspace link) organized a very fun Sushi night on Saturday. Tawni's cousin-in-law is a sushi chef who just moved back to Utah. We took full advantage of his time between jobs. He & his friend came & made an unbelievable amount of sushi for us. Tawni made the amazing origami on the gift boxes.
Melissa's home was decorated for the event complete with new plates & Japanese lanterns & fabulous Lotus Blossom drinks.

It felt like Japanese Thanksgiving we all ate so much. Lora topped off the evening with an amazing Cheesecake Factory godiva cheesecake. I rolled my first sushi roll & tasted nigiri for the first time. I am usually a mild sushi eater. Andrew & Ryan were so patient as we invaded their kitchen. They made amazing combinations of fish & mango, cilantro, pear, kiwi, apple, asparagus, etc. What a great night. I am keeping my fingers crossed that another fun evening will be possible before Andrew accepts a job.
