Breakfast with Santa was a hit. Despite game time shyness, Ella gave Santa the 411. Charlie was tracking Santa through the room, so we thought he might want to sit with him. Greta was very clear she wanted nothing to do with Santa. But, they both cooperated on Nicole's lap. We were shooting around the official camera person, but there were no tears this year. Ella & Charlie petted a dragon, ferret & armadillo (Greta is the animal lover that her brother is). Ella also touched a snake. Everyone ate lots of pancakes & made ornaments. It was a nice morning - and we stayed entertained while waiting to visit Santa.
My expectations for this birthday were low. Ella has been invited to 5 birthday parties this month & I feel for those kids. It's such a busy time of year, we had a lot going on with the kids & birthdays really become less of a focus once you have kids. But, I was very surprised how fun the day was. I received lots of phone calls, emails & cards which is always so nice. We had yummy cake & a dinner I didn't have to make (or clean up). We watched the kids go sledding. Jessica, Nicole & I did a little shopping & got in a long walk. I couldn't have asked for a better day.
