My work retreat was in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Because it was 'mud season,' our group was able to negotiate great rates at the Steamboat Grand. This is the view from one of the patio decks.
Our big event while we were in town was at Dig This - a heavy equipment play area. I thought this old barn on the property had so much charm. The hill to the left was man-made. The owner of the property is a big-time X-Games snowmobiler. That hill is a landing pad. We were told that the world record snowmobile jump was performed in the field next to this barn (about 250 feet). Apparently, we were standing near hallowed grounds - the world's largest snowmobile park.
We were split into 6 teams & each got to operate 1 piece of equipment while the rest of the team solved problems. I have no idea what it cost per person to do this, but it was one of the best team building exercises. We were all exhausted by the end of the day.
I got to drive this little beauty. I told Nick we need to start planning some projects that require holes to be dug. I am ready to go!
