Last month we went to a dessert fundraiser for the Junior League of Salt Lake City. Our friend Lora was in charge of the event. She & her committee did a fabulous job. She's the same woman responsible for the Touch-A-Truck event Jessica took the kids to last year.
There were dessert samplers from many of our favorite dessert places in town - Grand America Hotel & our favorite gelatoria (espresso is my new favorite flavor). Avenue Sweets was so easy to work over the past two years. Many local chocolate companies won't ship internationally, but they took care of everything when I needed to send thank you gifts to all the speakers at the Intellectual Property Summit. Not to mention, Martha thinks they are a good thing!
Have you tried chocolate covered grapes yet? They are divine & taste much better than they sound.
I didn't try to the hot chocolate fountain, but it smelled good! They had a signature cocktail - chocolate martinis- that were very tasty. We had a fun evening visiting with friends, listening to a great band & helping raise money for a great cause. Lora was concered about meeting her fundraising goal, but she exceeded that goal by nearly 6 times! The professional photographer took a picture of Nick & me with Ella's camera, but it was too blurry to post - working with a SLR certainly makes it tough to switch back to the slower point & shoot!
