Before we left for our roadtrip, Jessica & I scored at a used book sale in her neighborhood. I NEVER buy books & hate keeping contemporary books around the house, but I couldn't resist these titles - besides I'll spread lots of smiles as I pass these books along once I am done. The ladies running the charity event were bookworms & had plentiful suggestions. I love the thrill of a good bargain!
I took one on our trip to Lake Tahoe - Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver (an alumnae of Jessica's college). Loved the book & I am sending it with Uncle K when he meets up with my Mom & Phil later this month. In fact, I found two past book club books for Mom to read on the beach (Bel Canto and Shadow of the Wind).
We have one more trip later this month & while finding time to read while on a non-road trip with the kids is tough, I think I can finish one & pass it along to someone at the beach.
