Ever wonder who eats those huge nasty looking turkey legs at fairs? Now you know.
Before the cold weather came to town, we made it to the Balloon Glow at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. We rode the shuttle & got there a little too early. The kids were running around like crazy chickens.
Finally, the sun started to set. The wind died down and we were ready for action.
The first glow was so exciting! The kids loved watching their first balloon inflate & rise.
As darkness began to set in, the glow became even prettier.
We loved how close to the action you could be.
It was crowded, but not too crowded.
The weather was perfect. A light jacket was all that we needed.
We timed the bus ride home perfectly. At 7:30 we hit the bathrooms for the kids & loaded the bus. By 7:45, our bus was rolling out of the parking lot.
We skipped the fireworks since it was a school night.
Tomorrow night the evening events start featuring the special shapes balloons (i.e, butterflies, bees, etc.). Nick will be traveling for work & it's been cold. We might have to wait for next year to see the shapes. If I'm feeling adventurous, I'll get the kids up early Friday morning to watch an ascension from the field.
