It seems like a lifetime ago, but over Memorial Day we went to Durango, Colorado. All the men were busy with work so the ladies took control of the wheels. We felt like Thelma & Louise.
If instead of a fancy convertible, Thelma & Louise were driving 2 RVs & a minivan.
And, instead of Brad Pitt they were hanging out with 9 kids.
Durango is an easy drive from Albuquerque. It was beautiful, relaxing and just nice to sit & not worry about anything related to the move or our house for a few days.
The drive from Denver was long & scary at night so we were very happy Nick was able to join us.
We spent a lot of time just hanging around the campgrounds.
Playing games.
Swimming.
Eating lots of ice cream (doesn't little Charlie look like he's giving big Charlie his best puppy dog eyes?)
Playing more games.
Concocting new culinary delights.
Spending time with friends.
Spending all the quarters the kids could find.
We had some great moments. Like when Charlie jumped up & asked if he could make guacamole like he learned in his Spanish class.
And we caught the boys raiding the brownie dish.
We learned that Charlie & Greta likely learned their cheating from the big dog,
tried new drinks,
got very dirty (photo taken 1 hour after swimming & showers),
and told long winded stories by the fire. It was a great start to summer.
