Did you know today is supposedly the most depressing day of the year? If you make it through today, it's all downhill from here. I personally am having a pretty good day. It's {cold but} sunny. Everyone is home and after a few hours of working, we have a fun adventure planned.
My challenge this week was to increase my water intake. While participating in a program last fall, it was brought to my attention that my body might need more water than normal. It was suggested that I might feel better if I tried to consume more than half my body weight in ounces of water. Sometime during the holidays my water consumption plummeted.
So, this week, Nick & I took on that challenge & did pretty well. The photo about is of a spicy lemon elixir water which is basically lots of lemon, a dash of agave & cayenne pepper. I drank this once. Most of the time I just tried to get my water as cold as possible & keep my water bottle filled. It does take planning & concentrating to drink this much water, but it is doable. This challenge is much harder on the weekend when you are running around versus sitting at a desk all day.
The Good: I lost 5 pounds!
The Bad: Nick lost 10 through a strategic plan of eating more, not exercising & snacking on nuts.
The Ugly: 3 of those pounds were lost between yesterday & today and are probably a result of not drinking enough water during our 12,000 ft adventure. I don't care, I am going to bask in this little victory.
